Our beloved owner and CEO, Issa Marie, started The Bookish Girl Reviews in April of 2021 after her brothers tragic passing. He encouraged her to follow her dreams and let nothing stand in the way. So that's what she did.

With her love and passion for reading, greatly inspired by Anna Todd, what started as a one woman show rapidly turned into a need in this community that resulted in, "The Bookish Girls Team".

The team focuses on bringing exposure to talented indie authors who just need a chance for their work to be seen. Our members consist of 60+ like-minded readers all eager to help this cause because they saw and believe in the genuine heart of their founder.

After hearing from NUMEROUS authors and readers alike, encouraging her to turn this 'thing' into a business, Issa launched The Bookish Girls Services in 2022 and she has no plans of stopping any time soon!

Outside of running The Bookish Girls, Issa was busy publishing her debut romance novel, Little Broken Pieces, following her first published poetry book, My Battle with the Enemy.
